Psychotherapy Incorporating Equines
Now offering extended therapeutic interactions with horses between the months of May and October at Sky River Equestrian Center, conveniently located 15 minutes from Whitefish.
From over 25 years of personal experience with horses and 12 years of working with horses therapeutically, Emily now offers extended therapeutic sessions that highlight the impactful relationship that can be fostered when we reconnect with nature and ultimately, ourselves. Each lesson teaches a horsemanship skill as it relates to an issue a client is seeking to resolve in their day-to-day life.

Prior to starting her own psychotherapy practice using both equine psychotherapy and office-based therapy in 2019, Emily acted as a program director for the non-profit organizations Mustard Seed Ranch and Equestrian Bridges, that focused solely on providing equine therapy services to children and adolescents for both emotional therapy purposes as well as adaptive riding lessons. Emily continued this work with individual psychotherapy clients again at Two Bear Therapeutic Riding Center and most recently at the Temple Grandin Equine Center through her alma mater, Colorado State University.

Taking time to publish her experiences and passion for equine therapy work in her novel, STABLE, Emily now looks forward to fostering deeper and more intentional equine connections through wellness retreats and seasonal therapy sessions.

During the introductory session, clients will be introduced to the horses and the philosophy behind how and why horses are so beneficial for our grounding and self-awareness. Clients will be lead through a horsemanship method that focuses on the client's initial therapeutic goal.

For those seeking additional equine therapy sessions, individual 90-minute sessions build on the initial horsemanship lessons learned during the introductory session, while furthering to address the therapeutic goals of the client.
